The first snowfall

I am finally ready to start thinking about Christmas. I don't like to start too early because I'll tire of it before it gets here. This weekend I am off to look for a couple of decorations to add to my small collection.. While browsing for inspiration I completely side tracked with these images, that I know my readers who love white will adore. That's you Charlie ! They are absolutely beautiful because they remind me of that first snow fall, you hope will arrive just before Christmas. I have truly come to appreciate the beauty of layering white over the past year. Various tones, with different textures, finishes and fabrics can create a very warm and inviting space.
.

And for those readers who would die without colour, I have added a touch of Ice Blue. This one is for your Erin!
.
I'll be posting on some of my favorite Holiday Decorating articles next week.
Have a fabulous weekend!

  3. I love those first two images, Vitania! I like the idea of using stockings other than on a mantel.

BTW, I got the floral arrangement ~ thanks again for such a great giveaway. The folks at Sophie Dahy were so quick sending it out! I love it!

  7. Lovely images, Vitania! I found myself thinking about the Christmas children we read about who are all snuggled into that big bed while they dream about sugar plums... those are their stockings hanging on the foot of the bed, ready to be filled by Santa! Love it!!

  9. Charlie isn't the only one luvin' all white, especially with those dreamy inspirational images. Now, if I can only get that warm fuzzy exciting feeling of seeing the first snow fall to be the same with the holiday quickly approaching. :)

  11. I am always to drawn to the elegant silvery and white approach to decorating for Christmas...and yet, I always do the green and red and colored lights approach because that is what I grew up with, and it is what my kids are growing up with! We once tried to do a white light tree, and all agreed it just didn't seem as much like Christmas.

Thank you SO much for helping out with my 'favor' yesterday! My daughter is thrilled, she feels like a rock star because of all of the comments and all of the dots on the world map!

  16. One day I'd love to have a cold, snowy Christmas... it must be so special!

Since it's always SO hot here at Christmas (we're at 35C for the 4th day in a row already, and it isn't even summer until next week!) I really love the idea of white to cool things off... but knowing me, I'll probably add some pale blue and silver to glitz things up a bit :)
