Design Social: CDN Design Bloggers Meetup2.7.11
The crowd rolls in.
Last Saturday, Canadian Design bloggers united for a fun evening in Toronto. We gathered at Brassaii restaurant, where Tommy Smythe joined us with an inspiring presentation of a recent trip to Scandinavia. It was so fun to get this really great group of talented bloggers together to catch up in person. The night was a huge success, and it is with much thanks to Ikea for their amazing support, Delta for their support and generosity, and new sponsor CIL, that contributed to a magical evening. I have been working away at getting this night together for months, and I am so pleased a the result. Thanks also to Daniella of Dress Design and Decor for all her work pulling this event together.
Tommy Smythe, of Sarah Richardson Design was a fun and enthusiastic speaker.
Natasha from Eco Deco and Me
Lisa Ferguson of Decor Mentor, Christine Da Costa of The Glam Blog, Lindsay Stephenson of Little House Blog, Sarah Gunn of Wall Candy, Vanessa of Decor Happy, and I can't recall who this lovely profile is, so please let m know if you do.
Anita Griffin of Delta, Dita Kuhtey of Cohn & Wolfe and Me
Me up at the mic making introductions and saying Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend, and to the sponsors for the generous sponsorship and gifts! That's Daniella by my side!
The food was delicious. If it weren't for the kind service at Brassaii, I may not have gotten to taste the fish and chips. I had my eye on them and they kept disappearing, so one of the servers made sure he came my way with a hot dish! Mmm,
Can you think of anything better to dine on with sparkling wine than grilled cheese?
The Grand prize for the evening was a $1000. gift certificate at IKEA. The Winner, Amy Parrag of Eye See Pretty, who I just adore. Here she is with Daniella and I,b Andrea Mills of Ikea, and Tommy Smythe. We also gave away and Ipad2 to one lucky blogger, Delta provided beautiful design books and faucets, Crate and Barrel pillows and lamp, design books, subscriptions to House and Home and and a Rowenta garment steamer.
Thanks to Lindsay Stephenson of Little House Blog and Penny People for pulling my calling card together so quickly!
Thanks to House and Home magazine for featuring us online!
