Bright and Bold!

I am crazy about these colours from Atelier Versace's Fall collection.  That very first outfit has me falling in love with green all over again, and those beautiful shoes! I can't take it  Now if they have a version of it that hits the knees, it would be perfect..:-)  How are you feeling about colour this season?  Are you up for Bold and Bright or keeping it soft and subtle?

A Little Love In London

You can tell I am a fan of the exciting October covers that have hit my doorstep over the last 2 weeks.  Here is another beauty featured in Elle Decor.  A London flat, designed by an incredible designer, Paolo Moschino.  You know you have made it as a designer, when you pretty much select only clients you have a connection with.  Such was this case for this home.  You can tell that this is was a fun home to work on.  In all it's sophistication it remains playful and family friendly.  And how about the portrait of the Queen, it's perfect!

A Daring Dining Room

House Beautiful was delivered last week, and I fell in love with the cover!  Is it just me or is this dining room perfection?  Maybe lavender isn't your colour, perhaps blue or green would suit you better, but let's talk about the details!  The gold mirror against that fabulous wall of hand painted wallpaper from DeGournay is the perfect mix of sophistication..  Chandelier and sconces are elegant and that fabulous purple lacquered door is dramatic.  The dining chairs set the tone for the entire room with their simple covering of lilac mohair fabric.  And despite the fact that you might call this a purple room, there actually isn't a whole lot of purple in it!

The Creative Kitchen

Just when you think you are sold on the all white kitchen, House Beautiful's kitchen of the year, is in dark contrast!  This cluttered kitchen is not my typical style, with and abundance of overhead lighting and hanging pots and pans, even the counter is stacked with appliances.   But there is something magical about this beautifully collected space.  The fabric on the dining chairs, is fabulous.  Why decide on a colour or pattern, when you can use them all.  It even has a little chalk board nook, and a kids table.  Is this the mom in me screaming, "I'll take function"? Probably.

A Day in the CIty

Vintage style and a little romance in New York City.  Featuring the beautiful Eniko Mihalik it's the Paule Ka Fall Winter Campaign by Garance Dore, shot at the Carlyle.  This is fashion at it's best, its sophisticated, glamorous, romantic and fun! And there is Video!

Chalk It Up!

Maybe it's the fact that I have kids who love to write on walls, or maybe it's my own playful self looking to have a little fun, but I have been thinking about how cool it would be to have a chalk wall in our kitchen/dining area.  Somewhere to remind everyone of what's on the agenda for the day, or to share a menu, or send a sweet message to one of the cuckoo's in my nest.  I am thinking it could be real fun.  I love these images because despite the playful, they have a little sophistication to them as well. What do you think?  Is this a recipe for disaster?

The Right Setting

Love the mix of this delightful dining room.  Light and Dark. Check out the chairs, black backing and white seat. Refined and rustic, a barn board table paired with elegantly tapered chairs.  And I am all over the organic table setting, with basket weave chargers, and uneven bowls.

Make it a great day friends!

Casali Di Monticchio

I have to stop stumbling onto these places! I uploaded 3 villas before I found this one!  It's located in Umbria, Italy, a region rich as rich in history and culture as the rest of Italy but perhaps not as popular. Surrounded by gorgeous views of hillsides and vineyards, and located just hop and a skip away from Rome and Florence, it's the ideal escape.  Soak in all Italy has to offer in pure luxury for a week or two, or three.
